OpenCitations is seeking applicants for a three-year System Administrator, to be hired at the Department of Classic Philology and Italian Studies from early 2024.
PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
The System Administrator, in compliance with the levels of responsibility and autonomy envisaged by the CCNL for the category to which they belong, will carry out the following main activities:
• systems engineer activities, relating to the management of servers and other infrastructural components;
• installation, configuration and management of databases;
• installation, configuration and management of web servers
• management and maintenance of the software necessary for the services made available by the infrastructure;
• implementation and maintenance of backup systems.
The following knowledge and skills are required:
1 – TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• knowledge of managing Linux operating systems (for example Debian Server);
• knowledge of the Python programming language (which is the main language used for most of the software developed to implement the infrastructure and its services);
• knowledge and/or experience relating to SQL and/or graph databases;
• knowledge and/or experience relating to Web servers;
• knowledge and/or experience relating to Git-based versioning systems;
• basic knowledge of orchestration systems.
2 – TRANSVERSAL SKILLS
• ability to work in a team;
• flexibility and tension towards innovation;
• operational reliability;
• problem solving.
Attitudinal and motivational elements will also be assessed.
Knowledge of the English language as well as basic level digital skills is also required, as set out in the “Digital skills for the PA” Syllabus.
REQUIREMENTS
One of the following qualifications:
• First-level degree (three-year) obtained pursuant to the Ministerial Decree. 509/99 and the Ministerial Decree 270/04;
• Specialist degree obtained pursuant to the Ministerial Decree. 509/99;
• Master’s degree obtained pursuant to the Ministerial Decree. 270/04.
Qualifications declared equivalent by current legislation will also be admitted.

The application for admission to the public exam, as well as the related attachments, must be submitted exclusively online, using the Pica platform (Integrated University Competitions Platform), available on the PICA portal page within the peremptory deadline of 1.00 pm (Italian time) on 16 November 2023.
The date of online submission of the application to participate in the exam is certified by the IT system through a receipt which will automatically be sent via e-mail to the candidate. Once the deadline for submission has expired, it will no longer be possible to submit the application.
The candidate must enter all the data required to produce the application and attach the required documents in electronic format. By the deadline for submitting the application, the system allows saving in draft mode, but the compilation procedure and electronic submission of the application must be completed no later than the deadline date and time of the announcement.
